Synthy. The "piano" sounds a lot like a string instrument but I think it's a good timbre.

I used FL Studio! Also, the piano is accompanied by a guitar patch as well hence the string colors you're picking up on!

This is some high quality, blast it through your speakers at full volume, headbang until you break your neck, have it as a score to a video game or animated fight scene, drive around town with this playing in your car so the musically weak minded can have their third eye opened kind of song. I love how there's just 4 different endings in this song, like no one wanted it to end, so you get this weird anticipation for more until you realise it's over.

In summary: dude, you rock.

Though I didn't like the way the timbre at the beggining sounded, once the brass kicked in at the end, I was locked in a trance.
